How to access Music Therapy under the National Disability Insurance Scheme
Music Therapy is an Allied Health Service provided under Core and Capacity Building - Improved Daily Living. Capacity Building Supports help participants to increase their skills for independence in daily practical activities such as language and communication, personal care, movement and mobility, interpersonal interactions and community participation.
Music Therapy is considered a "therapeutic support" under the NDIS.

If you have funding for "improved daily living" you can choose to use all or part of your funding for Music Therapy.
Your music therapy has to:
Music lessons are not funded under therapeutic supports under the National Disability Support Scheme, but may be funded under Capacity Building under "Increased Social and Community Participation".
Anne will provide an invoice to the plan manager, or family after the session is complete. A cancellation fee of 50% will be charged if no notice is provided.
Your music therapy has to:
- be provided by a registered music therapist
- be considered reasonable and necessary
- help you reach your NDIS goals.
